Midfielder Rob Wilson could return in time for today’s crunch Northern Premier League clash at Coalville Town.

Wilson missed last weekend’s 3-1 victory over Stourbridge after suffering a recurrence of an old ankle injury.

But joint manager Lee Andrews is hopeful he will be fit to take his place back in today’s squad.

“We are hoping that he will make it,” confirmed Andrews. “He has been steadily improving all week.

“So, we will assess him late on and hopefully he will play a part.”

Calum Henderson is unavailable for the 434-mile round trip but Reds could welcome back their former skipper Dan Wordsworth who signed back on the dotted line on deadline day for his former club after returning from a spell in Australia.

Andrews was hopeful his international clearance might come through in time for him to feature at Coalville.

“We are just waiting on the clearance to come through,” he said. “If it does, then he will be involved.

“He has been playing out in Australia so he is fit to come straight into the team.”

Andrews admitted they could not take Coalville lightly, despite the fact their hosts are 10 places below them in the table, in 16th.

“They had a good result in midweek and the league table can be misleading for them,” added Andrews.

“They are not a bad side, probably better than what the table is showing.

“So, this is another massive game for us so we just need to approach it well and prepare well, which we are doing by going down the night before.”

Coalville boss Tommy Brookbanks has also been strengthening his squad with winger Marcus Marshall joining on loan from Boston United until the end of the season.

Marshall, 27, has played for Blackburn Rovers, Rotherham, Bury, Morcambe and Grimsby Town and looks set to line up against Reds today, kick-off 3pm.
