Workington Comets rider Adam Roynon says his team must end the season with a bang as they prepare to face Glasgow in their League Cup semi-final second leg.

Comets lost the first leg 64-25, meaning they have the almost impossible task of overturning 39 points tonight.

Should Comets defy the odds and win on aggregate, they would play Somerset in the final, otherwise their season ends tonight.

Tony Jackson's team narrowly missed out on a place in the league play-offs, despite their impressive home record.

Roynon said: "The weather played a big part in our last meeting with Glasgow and, hopefully, this time it will be more like what we're used to.

"We're all keen to end the season on a high, but what should have been a good season, has not been good enough.

"We'll definitely make a go. Glasgow are the strongest team in the league.

"You want to get a 5-1 in every race but you can't always do that."

Glasgow are expected to be at full strength for the meeting.

Rasmus Jensen is doubtful for Comets due to illness.

The Tigers won 51-39 at the Zebra Claims Stadium last month in the league and also beat Comets 59-31 back in August.

Former Comets riders Rene Bach and Richard Lawson also represent the Tigers.

Roynon added: "It's almost like riding against another Comets team but that makes us more determined to beat them.

"It's just all about winning and ending the season on a good note. If we could win, I'd be more than happy."

The meeting gets under way at 7pm.
