The youngster has enjoyed a terrific year, significantly improving his average to 3.67 with Workington and establishing himself as a formidable National League No1 with Belle Vue.
As a result he scooped the awards for Most Improved Average and Most Bonus Points at the Comets’ end-of-season do last week.
Williamson said: “I just love it there, especially coming off the year I’ve had so there’s no reason why I wouldn’t have wanted to come back.
“I love the track, it’s a lovely drive up from Manchester every weekend and the promotion have been really good to me.
“The whole thing is just improvement all the time and if that takes me into the main body of the team that would be great. I can’t wait.”
Williamson comes into the side on a discounted 3.58 average as he is in his third season in the sport.
