Workington Comets must be wary of the threat posed by familiar faces when they welcome Peterborough to Derwent Park tomorrow, according to team manager Tony Jackson.

The Panthers boast ex-Comets Ulrich Ostergaard and Simon Lambert in their line-up, while Charles Wright has also been drafted in as a guest for Jack Holder at No.1 for tomorrow night (7pm start).

All three have vast experience of the Workington track and, with former British Champion and Grand Prix winner Chris Harris at No.5, Jackson believes Comets will need to be at their best to tame the visitors.

Comets will use Ty Proctor at No.5 after missing last week through illness, rider replacement for Thomas Jorgensen at No.2, Mason Campton moving to No.3 and Tom Woolley at No.7.

“They’re obviously a solid side so it’s not going to be easy,” Jackson said.

“In the past, Craig Cook and Harris have had some good battles which is something the fans can get into.”

Workington then travel to Newcastle on Sunday (7.30pm start), when the Diamonds will be without Robert Lambert and will use a National League guest unless they are granted a BSPA facility.
