Whitehaven beat Doncaster, Workington rained off at Gateshead
Published at 17:26, Sunday, 05 August 2012
Workington Town's Championship One clash at Gateshead Thunder this afternoon was called off due to torrential rain.
However, Whitehaven's excellent 25-18 victory against second-placed Doncaster has set up a possible title-deciding tie between Town and Barrow Raiders, at Derwent Park, next Sunday (3pm ko).
Raiders beat Oldham 42-16 to remain top of the table but only six point separate Town and Barrow, with Town having a game in hand [v bottom-of-the-table Gateshead] and superior points difference.
