Town's Hull KR star Dave Petersen to miss derby

HULL KR starlet Dave Petersen could be set to return to Workington Town to boost the club’s Grand Final hopes – if they can get past visitors Whitehaven tomorrow (3pm).
Petersen has made his Super League breakthrough since joining Town on dual registration early this season and will miss the play-off derby as he is on a pre-booked holiday with Hull KR pals.
But coach Gary Charlton said: “He has been great for us, and hopefully if we win this game he will be back for our next one. There’s no reason why he shouldn’t be.
“We got to the final last year and it was good to be there, even though we under-performed and Keighley deserved to win on the day.
“We are two games away from getting back there, when hopefully we would put up a better performance.”
Charlton is discounting Town’s four previous wins against Haven this term ahead of their final meeting of the campaign.
“They count for nothing as this is a totally different competition,” he added. “This is knock-out football – lose this game and the season is finished.
“It’s a massive incentive not to let it happen. That is the pressure on the teams.”
James Robinson will be named in the 17 in place of the injured Graeme Mattinson in the only change from last week’s side that beat Oldham, when full-back Brett Carter played stand-off.
“He has only played a few times at six but he takes the line on and teams don’t seem to know what he will do,” the coach said. “He has a lot in his locker and is a handful to keep hold of.
“We are missing a few bodies but we won’t be missing aggression, enthusiasm or determination.”
Tomorrow’s winners travel to face the losers of Doncaster’s clash with Barrow. Marc Bainbridge has not broken a bone in his hand, as feared, and instead suffered soft tissue damage.
