Olstrum returns for Workington Town promotion clash at Doncaster

Workington Town can complete their season’s objective tonight by securing promotion to the Championship.
But Town will have to overcome a Doncaster outfit that stands in third spot in Championship One and who are unbeaten at home this season.
The west Cumbrians will have to be at their best and will be hoping to reproduce the form that saw them come back from an 18-0 deficit to hammer The Dons 45-18, two months ago.
Good news for Town is the return of Karl Olstrum, 20, who recently signed a new two-year deal.
He was injured while playing for Cumbria in the RL Nines finals at Headingley but will start tonight at the Keepmoat Stadium. But Dan Rooney is out injured.
Coach Gary Charlton said: “It’s good news Karl’s back. He’s a great lad, a great trainer and he has a fantastic work ethic. When he plays, he wants to win.”
Town will also be without loose-forward Dave Petersen, the dual registration signing from Hull KR. It is expected that Petersen will involved in KR’s Super League clash against Widnes on Sunday.
However, Charlton, along with fellow joint coach Martin Oglanby, have decided to move Aussie Jarrad Stack to loose-forward after mulling over several options.
Victory tonight would see Town return to the top of the table after they were dislodged following Barrow’s defeat of Whitehaven last Thursday.
Meanwhile, Doncaster coach Tony Miller is under no illusions that tonight’s televised clash (Premier Sports – 7.30pm ko) is going to be a tough one.
“We both need to win it and it’s a crucial game for both teams,” Miller told News & Star Sport.
“Workington are the best team we have played this season. We will have to defend better than we did the last time we played them but we are confident. We are unbeaten at home this season.
“Town have threats all over the park.
“Jamie Thackray and Graeme Mattinson are very fast and dangerous in the middle of the park, while Brett Carter and Elliott Miller are dangerous wide out. And Mark Calderwood can pop up anywhere.”
Miller added that dual reg signing Liam Cunningham (Hull) would not be risked after battling back from injury, but his two other dual reg players, Russ Spiers and Danny Cowling from Wakefield Wildcats, will feature.
