CHESHAM United stormed through to the third round of the FA Trophy with a 4-0 thumping of Doctor Martens League highfliers Weymouth.

The Generals produced their best display of the season to send the Vauxhall Conference hopefuls spinning out of the competition.

Weymouth's collection of ex-professionals were ripped to shreds by a rampant United side who extended their unbeaten league and cup run to seven games.

United seized control when midfielder Ernie Cooksey fired them into an early lead which they never looked likely to relinquish.

Bob Dowie's side continued to take the game to the seasiders and got their rewards just before half time when Richard Graham bashed in the second.

Any thoughts Weymouth harboured of staging a second half comeback were sunk within minutes of the restart as Chesham tightened the noose when Gareth Wotton made it 3-0 to the home side.

Still United weren't finished. Paul Fewings who looked to be on his way out of The Meadow when he was shipped off to Hendon on loan last month, put the seal on the performance when he ran half the length of the field to score the fourth.
