FORMER Workington Town star Shaun Lunt is on the brink of making it to the Super League play-offs – in his first season with Huddersfield Giants.
Hooker Lunt has made his mark on the first team squad after joining the Giants from Town.
And he will be hoping to make it into coach Nathan Brown’s side to face Hull FC on Friday night - when their play-off fate could be sealed.
Lunt suffered a bout of concussion in their victory against the Catalans Dragons last weekend.
But he has been passed fit to play and been in training all week, the club confirmed.
Although he may still step aside for David Faiumu, who was rested against Catalans.
If the Giants make it six wins on the trot at Hull FC then a place in the top eight will be signed, sealed and delivered. But Brown is keen to stress that this would just be the start of the journey as he realistically believes his side can aim to finish in the top four.
Lunt, just 23, scored 17 tries in just 19 appearances for Town last term before signing for the Giants and was twice named NL2 young player of the year.
