Workington Town’s pre-season sales of the new away kit for 2009 are rocketing – with the club already having to re-order more stock just days after launching the new designs.
Demand is high for the red and green away kit that harks back to the colours the club played in for their very first game back in 1945 against Broughton Rangers at Borough Park.
And officials at Derwent Park are delighted with the sales that have come on the back of some great offers introduced by the club on October 31.
Director Kevin Moss said: “Sales are going very well and we have had to re-order more of the away strip, which seems to be really popular.
“Anyone wanting one needs to come in and order it because they are going really quickly.”
New deals for supporters have aided the boost in sales as fans can snap up the latest replica shirt for free, if they buy a season ticket for Derwent Park, priced at just £110.
There is also a great deal for younger supporters which offers a rover season ticket, entitling under-16s to free admission to all grounds, home and away, plus a replica shirt, for only £50.
The new home kit is a modern version of the traditional strip with the blue band that most fans will associate with as the club’s true colours.
Fans are advised to order quickly in order to secure a shirt before Christmas and to take advantage of the offers which will both end on January 7.
