Carlisle rugby star Chris Harris has earned another Scotland call-up.

Harris, 27, who qualifies to play for the country through his grandmother, was one of 33 players picked for their summer tour to Canada, USA and Argentina next month.

Six uncapped players have also been included in the squad.

Edinburgh Rugby duo Lewis Carmichael and Jamie Ritchie are joined by Glasgow Warriors back-row Matt Fagerson in the pack.

Glasgow Warriors half-backs George Horne and Adam Hastings also earn the opportunity to continue a stellar debut season on the tour alongside former Scotland Under-18s and Harlequins midfielder James Lang.

"There are twin goals for this tour," said Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend.

"The first is to build on the work we’ve done so far this season and finish with improved performances.

"We also have the Rugby World Cup in our thoughts, as this will be our last tour before we leave for Japan next year.

"Touring and staying together for four weeks and experiencing different environments will be very informative - seeing how players get on with each other, how much they improve and how they rise to each challenge we face on tour."

Newcastle Falcons centre Harris, a former Carlisle Rugby Club player, has so far earned two international caps. He made his debut in a 34-7 Six Nations defeat to Wales in early February.
