For the first time in weeks, there’s a full programme of matches scheduled for the three leagues which cover west Cumbria.

Aspatria Hornets, the odd team out in an Iggesund Cumberland ARL competition of seven clubs, will be the only team not involved. Their six rivals are all involved in the first round of the Cumberland ARL Cup.

All three teams involved in the National Conference Premier Division have key matches as they look to secure their individual priorities.

While in the Cumbria Men’s League all eight teams are involved with champions Distington, Glasson Rangers and Ulverston all set to play their final league games.

Starting at the top level in the National Conference, both Kells and Wath Brow have opportunities to make up for defeats last week.

Kells are at home to the bottom side Leigh Miner Rangers who have won only twice in the league so far. Kells actually kicked off the season with a big win there.

Wath Brow will certainly finish in the top six and they have designs on second or third place. Disappointed to lose out to the scourge of west Cumbria, Rochdale Mayfield last week, they face a longer trip to Humberside to take on Skirlaugh.

Their hosts are next to bottom fighting for every point, so will be dangerous opponents, but Wath Brow should have enough in the tank to see them off.

Match of the day in west Cumbria will be at Egremont where the revitalised home side are looking for a fourth successive victory.

A stern test lies ahead as they entertain Thatto Heath Crusaders, currently second in the table and in confident mood after beating leaders Siddal 16-6 last week.

Hensingham have enough games in hand to go on and clinch the Cumbria Men’s League title for the first time.

They will be expected to see-off bottom side Ulverston tomorrow as the south Cumbrians sign off in the west of the county.

Hensingham trail Distington but the champions complete their programme at Seaton Rangers.

Glasson Ranger have slipped dramatically down the table and they end their programme with a trip to Walney Central.

In the other game, Wath Brow A host Ellenborough Rangers.

Stand out tie in the Cumberland ARL Cup is between two of the three joint leaders. Second-placed Cockermouth Titans entertain Egremont A.

Lowca entertain the bottom side Broughton Red Rose while Kells A will be favourites to win at Flimby.
