Wath Brow Hornets have the chance to make progress in the National Conference Premier Division table tomorrow.

Third at the moment, the Hornets are at home to the team immediately above them in the table, Thatto Heath Crusaders.

Although heavily beaten in the reverse fixture, the Brow have been performing better than their rivals in recent weeks.

If Wath Brow can win tomorrow they will move to just a point behind the St Helens outfit with two games in hand.

Last week the Crusaders had to work hard and come from behind to beat Kells 22-16 while Wath Brow were in good form against Myton Warriors, winning 36-22 on Humberside.

Tomorrow it’s Kells turn to travel to Hull to take on the Warriors in what looks to be a well matched confrontation.

Both are on 14 points and Kells have a slightly better scoring differential – 34 to 33 – but the key factor is that Kells have played two games less.

Indeed, if they can win their games in hand, Peter Smith’s men would be challenging for a top four slot.

Egremont, though, are still in a group of five clubs trying to break clear of the relegation zone.

Four points currently cover fifth bottom to last place and Egremont are just one above the drop zone.

Tomorrow John Paul Brocklebank’s side have the toughest possible test – a trip to play champions and current leaders Siddal.

Two of the bottom five are in direct opposition as well with Pilkington Recs hosting Wigan St Patrick’s.

Egremont had been going well with three straight wins until losing last weekend 29-14 at home to the scourge of the Cumbrian sides, Rochdale Mayfield.

There’s a Maryport derby tonight in the Cumbria Men’s League with Glasson Rangers hosting Ellenborough Rangers.

Glasson have been having a torrid time in recent weeks, shipping an awful amount of points, when at one point they were poised to enjoy lording it from the top spot.

Apart from the big two – Hensingham and Distington, who are expected to battle it out for the title this season, the next five clubs are separated by only one point.

That leaves Ulverston seemingly booked for bottom spot with just two wins from ten games.

It’s bottom versus top tomorrow with Ulverston hosting Hensingham while Seaton Rangers will enjoy entertaining champions Distington after a recent run of form has lifted them off the bottom.

The only team not playing tomorrow in the Iggesund Cumberland ARL will be the bottom side Broughton Red Rose.

Three teams share top spot with 10 points and they are all involved in games against the teams below them.

Leaders, on points difference, Aspatria Hornets have a stiff test at Kells A who are only a point behind the big three.

Former leaders Cockermouth Titans can testify how tough it can be at Kells, as they lost 18-10 there last week.

Tomorrow Cockemouth have another tricky away fixture at Flimby, who on their day, are a match for any team in the League.

That leaves a Copeland derby with Egremont Rangers A hosting Lowca.
