Cleator Moor Town Council has donated a trophy to Wath Brow Hornets in memory of the late Tommy Taylor MBE.
Tommy was a founder member of both the Hornets youth section and the local youth league.
He also played for the club before starting coaching the club's under-11s, 13s, 15s and 17s. He then stepped up to take charge of Cumbria Under-18s before joining BARLA in various roles.
He spent time as vice chairman of the organisation and was also BARLA Youth chairman.
And he was also the assistant manger of the BARLA U18 Young Lions, serving under Joe Elliott for several tours.
Wath Brow spokesman, Martin Brough, said: "The work he did for rugby league and for the youth in particular was immense and that is the legacy he has left behind."
Tommy was awarded the MBE in for services to the nuclear industry and with the Sellafield Snowball Committee.
His family has decided that the trophy will be awarded annually to the most dedicated young player out of the youth age groups at the club.
