Seaton produced a fine second-half fightback to win 36-20 at Glasson in the semi-final of the Cumberland Cup.

It means that Seaton will now meet either Distington or Ellenborough in the final to be played on a date to be announced.

The tie was described by spectators as being a great game and played in the right spirit with Glasson leading 16-8 at the break.

But, in a remarkable turnaround, Seaton fought back superbly to take the second half 28-4 and secure their place in the final.

Luke Jackson, Tom Dixon and Gary Taylor scored the Glasson tries with Dixon converting three and Dean Petre putting over one.

Seaton finished with six tries from Oscar Harris (2), Lewis Mason, Connor McCrickard, Jordan Pritt and Lim Wood. Dominic Smallwood landed six goals.

The only other game played at the weekend was in the Iggesund Cumberland Amateur Rugby League with Kells winning 60-4 at Broughton Red Rose.

The win pushed a strong Kells side to within a point of league leaders Egremont as they helped themselves to 11 tries as the points were fairly evenly spread throughout the 80 minutes. The Cipland side had led 28-4 at half-time.

The tries came from Kieran Halcrow (3), Jake Parker (2), Jordan Herve (2), Grant Gainford, Lloyd O’Neill, Harry Watson and Ross Gainford.

Ross Gainford converted eight of them.
