There was a shock for league leaders Cockermouth Titans as they went down 40-34 at Lowca.

It represented quite a comeback for Lowca as they trailed 22-10 at half-time but edged it by seven tries to six.

Emmerson Allen was a hat-trick hero for the villagers while Aiden Pirie crossed twice. James Taylor and Callum Sirkett got the other touchdowns with Sirkett landing six goals.

Try scorers for Cockermouth were Lee Burns (2), Matt Skillen, Gareth Skillen, Lee Cunningham and Mike Forster. There were five goals for Jack Clarke.

That defeat allowed Aspatria to confirm second place just two points behind after they had won 58-18 at Flimby.

No second-half fade outs by them as they built successfully on a 28-6 half-time lead.

Their hat-trick hero was Ross Barton who was followed over the home line by Darryl Creighton (2), Jack Clegg, Ellis Nixon, Peter Fearon, Shane Evitts and Stewart Reynolds. Luke Johnston landed nine goals.

Flimby scored three tries by Darren Pape, Dean Scholey and Grant Underwood, all converted by Pape.
