Egremont's charge to National Conference Premier Division safety continues to gain pace.

Their 34-20 home win over Wigan St. Patrick’s was their third successive victory, the best current sequence in the Division.

It means the Gillfoot side are two points and two places above the relegation trap-door, although still six points shy of a safe mid-table berth.

Egremont staged a really big finish to claim the spoils, for six minutes from time, they trailed 20-16 to their Wigan visitors.

Centre Ryan Barnes and player-coach John Paul Brocklebank (2) went over for tries to take them nicely clear as Matty Bewsher tacked on all the extras.

That brace completed a hat-trick for Brocklebank, who picked-up the man-of-the-match award, as he had been among the try-scorers earlier. Kieran Glenn and Barnes had also crossed with Bewsher landing two goals.

Wigan St. Patrick’s had led with the help of tries from James Ratcliffe, Oli Grundy, Jake Rimmington and Joe Higham. Ratcliffe landed two goals.

Only one game was played in the Cumbria Men’s League because two fixtures were called-off.

Ulverston had no team to travel up to Seaton who were subsequently awarded the game 24-0.

The match between Walney and Distington will be re-arranged for a later date.

After the one game that was played, Hensingham went back to the top of the league as they added to Glasson’s recent troubles with a 52-10 win in Marypot.

The contest had more or less been sorted by half-time when Hensingham were sitting on a 32-4 lead and, although Glasson did improve after the break, they never threatened to get into the contest.

The Hensingham tries were scored by Jay Rossi (2), Josh Rogerson (2), Craig Branthwaite (2), Liam Martin, Chris Smith, Glen McKitten and Liam Campbell. Steven Smith kicked six goals.

For Glasson, there were touchdowns by Andrew Pattinson and Gary Taylor with Craig Foster converting one.

There was only one game in the Iggesund Cumberland ARL but it was quite a thriller as Aspatria recovered from being 12-10 behind at Lowca going into the break. After an exciting second half, they emerged as 38-30 winners.

Lowca scored tries through Emerson Allen (2), Paul McNally, Dave Colley, Aiden Pirie and Steven Hodgson. There were three goals from Callum Sirkett.

Aspatria won the game with tries from Mark Irwin (2), Shane Evitts, Kris Beattie, Darryl Creighton, Luke Johnston and Alex Barton. Johnston added five goals.
