It proved to be a blank weekend in amateur rugby league circles after the only two scheduled games were postponed.

First to go in the Iggesund Cumberland ARL was the Copeland derby involving Kells A and Lowca.

Then the solitary remaining game in the Cumbria Men’s League, between Hensingham and Walney, was also postponed. Both games will be played at a later date.

The National Conference League sides had already been allocated a break for Whit this weekend. But the programme comes alive again tomorrow night with three games in the first round of the EB Lamb Amateur Cup.

It should have been four but Flimby have had to concede their home tie against Aspatria because they have so many players injured at the moment.

Best looking of the games left appears to be the Maryport derby as Glasson Rangers have home advantage over an Ellenborough side which has been in good form recently.

Distington haven’t lived up to last season’s form in an inconsistent start to their campaign and they have a potentially tricky test at Kells A.

The third evenly-balanced first round tie sees Seaton entertain Wath Brow A.
