Wakefield Trinity are keen to hold on to Cumbrian prop Kyle Amor.

The Wildcats signed the 25-year-old on a three-year deal from Leeds last year, but the Rhinos retained the option to take him back by the end of July.

And the Super League rivals have now decided to let Amor decide where his future lies.

He told News & Star Sport last week he would take his time before making a decision. But Wakefield boss Richard Agar is keen to retain him.

“At the moment we will take it as if Kyle will be here,” said Agar. “If he is not we will have to look for a replacement.

“I am fairly confident at this stage one – that he will stay, and two – that if he doesn’t we will be able to find a suitable replacement.”

The former Whitehaven front-rower has until the end of the season to decide if he wants to re-join the Super League champs or stay at Wakefield, where he has impressed this season.

“It’s going to be a tough decision,” said Amor, who started in the front-row in Wakefield’s weekend 40-12 derby win at Castleford that kept their feint play-off chances alive.
