Boss Kear confident

WAKEFIELD coach John Kear believes his in-form players will be able to maintain their focus despite the lure of Wembley.

A quarter-final home tie with National League part-timers Oldham has given the Wildcats the sense of a place in the Carnegie Challenge Cup Final in August.

Kear, who has won the cup with Sheffield Eagles and Hull, would love the chance to make history by coaching a third team to glory but in the meantime is determined to concentrate on the engage Super League, starting with tonight’s visit to table-toppers Leeds.

Kear’s men, who will be aiming to atone for a 44-8 home defeat by the champions back in February, go to Headingley seeking to extend their winning run to seven league and cup matches and their coach is adamant their quarter-final will not be a distraction.

Do you think that we will get any sun in September?

Of course! I haven't had a chance to use my BBQ yet

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. September has been nice in recent years

No chance. It's going to rain until next July
