Lewis hammers home advantage to win gold

BORDER Harriers youngster Lewis Lister won a gold medal at the Scottish Under-18 Championships in Grangemouth. The hammer thrower won the event with a new personal best of 46.98m.

Border shot-putter Hannah Farrell won a silver with a throw of 9.72m – a new personal best – and also won a bronze medal in the hammer with a throw of 41.10m.

Ella Telford won silver in the high jump after clearing 1.51m and a bronze in the 75m hurdles in a new personal best time of 12.60secs. Matty James threw 33.09m to take fourth place in the hammer – an agonising 31 centimetres away from winning a medal.
