But, with a battling 31 from Graeme Lilly, made 146 for 9 before overs ran out. For Whitehaven, Jon Bennett returned 5 for 38. Whitehaven also struggled with the bat, only Lee Norman showed much resistance with 31 and Whitehaven were all out for 96.

Cleator’s David Bell took 6 for 22.

At Cockermouth visitors Lindal Moor batted first and could only muster 83 all out.

Cockermouth professional Amila Weththasinghe taking 4 for 31. Cockermouth went to a seven-wicket win at 86 for 3 of which Weththasinghe made 58 n.o.

At a very wet Furness Park it was made possible to have a 60 over game. Batting first Furness, an innings of 72 by professional Ian Daniel, got them to 167 for 9 in their 30 overs.

Carlisle pro Saliya Salman returned 6 for 68.

Other than Mike Slack with 42, and Alex Raybould with 21, the Carlisle batting didn’t impress but they hung on for the draw at 92 for 9.

Jordy Buchanan 4 for 11, and Ian Daniel 3 for 33 kept Furness in control.

At Haverigg, Keswick were the visitors and mopping up operations allowed a 90 over game to start.

The home side batted first and with 43 from opener Stephen Chapman, with good support from skipper Steven Evans, 25, and Jordan Postlethwaite, 23, Haverigg were 150 for 9 off their 45 overs. Keswick made a miserable start, the first five in the order making 22 between them.

However, batting at no.6 Arran Davies made a fighting 47, being the only Keswick batsman to get into double figures.

Helped by the rain, causing six more overs to be lost, Keswick salvaged a draw at 105 for 8. Steve Evans 3 for 13 and Chris Armstrong 3 for 31 bowled well for the Poolsiders.
