Workington Amateur Boxing Club were among the clubs involved in an event for Furness Catholic Amateur Boxing Club last month.

The Pat Ryan Dinner, an annual dinner tournament and fundraiser, was held at Forum 28 in Barrow.

It was a sell-out and provided some of the young boxers, both boys and girls, the opportunity to display their skills in front of a big crowd.

Workington's Rio Rickerby took on Ali Al Dhufari from Longsight Boxing Club in Manchester.

Rio was then presented with a trophy by Gary Wood from the Nines Club after the fight.

Furness Catholic ABC said on their Facebook page: "Friday was a brilliant event and we couldn't be prouder of the lads and lasses boxing.

"There were lots of positives and, for all boxers, room for improvement too, including the winners."

It took place on Friday, November 25, with boxers coming from Liverpool club Salisbury ABC, Doncaster and Preston-based Larches and Savick ABC.
