Ex-Recre teenager Gregg McNally, who has linked up with the Super League Giants after spending last season on loan at Haven, has become a house-mate of new team-mate and former Town hooker Shaun Lunt.

McNally initially stayed at the home of a Giants fan when he switched to Huddersfield, after Haven’s season ended.

But he has now moved in with his fellow west Cumbrian as they launch preparations for the new campaign.

“Although we’re both from Cumbria we didn’t know each other until Gregg came down here,” said Lunt, who enjoyed a fantastic debut campaign at Huddersfield in 2009.

“Obviously, it’s now a different matter. As well as having similar accents, we both know the Cumbria area well and that helped us strike up an immediate friendship. This arrangement couldn’t suit us any better.”

Lunt is convinced he has an ideal new house-mate, while McNally has credited the No 9 with helping him settle in to his new club.

McNally added: “Moving away from Whitehaven for the first time was quite a daunting prospect.“But the fact I was made so welcome by everyone at the club from day one has made everything so much easier.”
