WHITEHAVEN will not be signing France-based Aussie playmaker James Wynne.
The club spoke to Wynne, the Lezignan player-coach, who impressed in the French outfit’s Challenge Cup defeat at the Recre last month.
It is believed he is outside their wage scale, though a rival NL1 club are now showing interest.
Home-grown scrum-half Marc Bainbridge, meanwhile, left out of last week’s 36-10 defeat at Salford, will be back in contention for Bank Holiday Monday’s League One visit of Leigh.
Leroy Joe, now usually seen at loose-forward, played No 7 at The Willows, and the vastly-experienced Kiwi may return to the pack against the Centurions, who led Halifax 36-10 at the weekend with 24 minutes remaining and went down 42-36.
