THE booming sport of girls’ rugby league will be given a helping hand on Sunday when professional coaches from Whitehaven join Copeland Wildcats for a specials skills session.
No previous rugby experience is needed to take part in the LHF Sportsmatch girls’ skills day, which runs from 10am to 1pm, on Whitehaven Amateurs’ Astroturf, at the County Ground.
“It is open to any girl in years, seven, eight and nine within Copeland to come down,” said Haven development officer Alan Davidson.
“It’s going to be a carousel of skills and will also promote healthy living and an active lifestyle
“There will be no contact, it’s just about skills, and no previous knowledge is needed. They don’t need to know anything about RL.
“It will be led by the Wildcats but also include Haven coaches.”
