Premier League leaders Workington were forced to battle for the points against Wigton.

The visitors opened the batting, but lost the first four wickets for just 19 runs.

Then, professional Kaushalya Gajasinghe and Simon Beare came to the crease, and Workington's fortunes changes.

Gajasinghe made a stunning 82, with Beare hitting 74 to take Workington onto 226-9 after their 50 overs.

Rain saw the match officials reduce Wigton's run chase to 205 in 44 overs, but they never got close.

Matt Lowden and Andrew Ireland each took three wickets as Wigton were all stopped 45 runs shy of their target.

Cleator got the better of rivals Whitehaven with relative ease.

The home side failed with the bat, and made just 109 as Cleator bowler David Blackwell skittled six of those wickets.

Bad weather meant Cleator's target was dropped to 89, and they comfortable made that with eight wickets to spare.

Cockermouth enjoyed a nine-wicket win over Dalton at Sandair.

The north Cumbrian visitors were all out for 62 in just 30.3 overs, and Cockermouth romped to the win, losing just one wicket.

Rain stopped play at Keswick, with officials awarding four points to the hosts and visiting Furness side.

In the first division, Carlisle came back from Workington with the points.

The visitors were all out for 166 - Ben Davidson top scored with 83 - and managed to defend a reduced total for Workington, and once again, rain interrupted the match.

Millom struggled at Lindal Moor, and were eventually dismissed for 148.

Again, rain caused lost overs, and Moor had to make 125 to win, which they did with six wickets to spare.

Elsewhere, there were wins for Haverigg, over Seascale, and Kirkby, over Ulverston.

Egremont opener Stephen Holliday made 161 not out as the visitors smashed Cleator in Division Two.

Dalton and Vickerstown were the other winners, with Lindal Moor and Hawcoat Park both beaten.
