Stokes, playing for Rising Pune Supergiants in this year’s Indian Premier League, could face his England skipper today when the Supergiants face Kings XI Punjab (11.30am).
“It’s exciting – he is buzzing for it,” England’s one-day skipper said in an interview with Sky Sports.
“He’s been itching to play in this tournament for years. It’s great timing for him given that he’s in fantastic form with ball and bat.
"He’s a nightmare to play against so I’m not sure what we’re going to do. Hopefully we’ll play well and we’ll win.”
Stokes and Morgan are two of eight England players to be involved in this year’s IPL, the 10th edition of the tournament.
Tymal Mills, Jason Roy, Chris Woakes, Chris Jordan, and wicketkeepers Sam Billings and Jos Buttler will be other England internationals involved.
Morgan added: “It’s amazing because we’ve worked so hard, especially in white-ball cricket over the last two years to improve our bowling that it’s great to see the demand for guys like Tymal, Chris and Ben.”
