After winning the toss, Carlisle were wobbling at 77-5 following a solid start by openers Ben Davidson and Paul Glascott.

But a half-century from Aled Calmy steadied the nerves and the Edenside club ended their 50 overs with 244 runs.

In reply, Workington's batsmen - four of which were given out LBW - were unable to handle Raybould's medium pace.

Elsewhere in the division, there were almost 450 runs scored as Haverigg beat Seascale.

Home-side Seascale were 220 all out but Dalton Polius’s 119 not out helped guide Haverigg to the win.

Millom beat Lindal Moor and Ulverston comfortably got the better of Ulverston.

In the Premier Division, Whitehaven had a poor afternoon at Cleator.

Batting first, they were all out for just 128, of which Dave Watson made 39. David Bell took six for 21.

Cleator’s reply was short and sweet as they breezed to 131 without loss. Rob Mason made 67 and Tom Sharpe was not out on 55.

Cockermouth opted to to bat first at Dalton and openers Gareth White (33) and Theo Valeri (48) made a good start.

Professional Chris Hodgson (51) and Matthew Sempill (39) saw Cockermouth to 217 for seven at tea.

Dalton’s Johannes Diseko took three for 50 in his 15 overs.

Dalton’s top and middle order made steady progress - Jordan Woodend made 46, Diseko (33) and Daniel Sharp (31).

But Valeri’s six for 46 gave Cockermouth the win - Dalton being all out in the 47th over for 184.

Wigton were in first at Workington and had a moderate day with the bat to be all out for 108 in the last over.

Workington’s pro Kaushalya Gajasinghe had six for 16 in 15 overs and Matthew Lowden took the other wickets.

Workington were always in command with the bat and coasted to the win in the 27th over at 111 for one. Robbie Lambert 57 and Greg Platten unbeaten on 52 batted well for Workington.

Keswick were at Furness Park and winning the toss decided to bat. Both openers were soon out but Geeth Kumara (83) and Ben Sharp (52) made a good recovery.

Five ducks in the middle and lower order saw Keswick all out for 167 in the 47th over. Furness pro Seth Rance took four for 35.

In reply, openers Ryan Griffiths (63) and Mike Gadsden (36) gave Furness a solid start and they went to a comfortable win in the 38th over at 168 for five.

In Division Two, there were wins for Cockermouth, Vickerstown, Lindal Moor and Cleator II.
