Workington Town coach Phil Veivers says his side must sharpen up their concentration if they’re going to grab points in their remaining seven games.

Bottom-of-the-table Town have lost their last three matches including last weekend’s reverse at London Broncos.

They led against the league’s second place team on Sunday, but ended up on the wrong end of a 50-28 scoreline.

On Sunday they host Bradford Bulls who beat Town 52-16 back in April.

Veivers said: “We had a good 60 minutes against Broncos.

“But our concentration and attention to detail let us down. We controlled it for 60 minutes, but in a 20 minute spell it slipped away from us.

“We can score points against the top sides and we’ve scored enough points, but our shortfalls are consistency and defence which we need to work on.”

A win for Town could help them to close the gap on 11th place Oldham to two points.

Veivers added: “I would like to say that home advantage will count a lot, but we’ve not made it a fortress this year.

“They will be expected to beat us and at times that can be your enemy.”

Kick off at the Zebra Claims Stadium is at 3pm.

Widnes have handed back-row forward Macgraff Leuluai a two-year contract extension.

The 26-year-old New Zealander, younger brother of former Wigan scrum-half Thomas Leuluai, has made 119 appearances for the Vikings since joining them in 2011 and has appeared in their last 16 matches.

Widnes coach Denis Betts said: “Macgraff is what this group is all about, hard working and honest.”
