Workington Reds White strengthened their position at the top of the West Cumbria Youth League's under-16s division with a comprehensive 7-0 win at Whitehaven AFC.

In the only other game in that division, Workington Reds Black and Maryport AFC battled to a 2-2 draw.

Whitehaven AFC Blue took advantage of a free weekend for Cleator Moor Celtic to leapfrog them and go top of the under-12s division with a 9-2 win against Maryport AFC.

Seaton United also stayed in the hunt with a 9-0 win at Senhouse Stars, while Workington Reds got an early Christmas present with their first win of the season at home to Aspatria, winning 6-4.

A nine-goal game between Whitehaven AFC Yellow and Moor Row United ended 5-4 to United, as Whitehaven Miners Social impressed to beat Bransty Rangers 8-1.

Whitehaven AFC moved into the top spot of the under-13s division with a hard-earned 5-4 win over St Bees, but Workington Rangers stayed in the chasing pack by beating Workington Reds White 5-0.

Workington Wanderers Whites extended their perfect record to nine wins from nine matches as they beat Whitehaven AFC 3-0 in the under-14s division, but Salterbeck were no match for Maryport AFC as they went down 9-0 against the title challengers.

The only under-18s division game saw Cleator Moor Celtic come out on top in a five-goal thriller against Whitehaven AFC, winning 3-2.
