Comets were without Rasmus Jensen due to injury but rode confidently to leave the Devils empty-handed and Jackson believes the win can be a good platform.

He said: “I’m very happy with that considering we were a rider down.

“Plymouth are a strong side and solid all the way through.

“Hopefully, we can get stronger as the season goes on but next weekend will be a tough test.

“We could do with picking up some more away points but we’ve been to a few of the tighter tracks now.

“Overall it was a good, happy night.”

Jackson shared the praise around as all seven riders contributed, with four hitting double figures.

“It was nice to see Adam Roynon carrying on where he left off on Thursday night and getting his confidence back,” said Jackson.

“It takes time to get going again and you could see from the way he was racing, that he’s getting there.

“Ricky Wells got only his second-ever full maximum and Kenneth Hansen was his usual entertaining self.

“Matt Williamson had a few problems and struggled but Mason Campton finished strongly.

“It was good to get them back.”
