A warning has been issued by Penrith manager Jim Nichols to his players that they cannot underestimate Silloth.

Nichols' troops will be favourites for the Cumberland Cup Quarter-Final tie.

But, while the Bonny Blues boss has not been able to watch them himself, he has received rave reviews about today's opponents (1.30pm kick-off).

He said: "I have not been to see Silloth myself but everyone I have spoken to have said what a great side they are.

"It doesn't matter how many leagues below us they are, we need to take that out of our mind.

"By all accounts, they are a decent side, so it's going to be a tough game.

"When you get to this stage, I don't think anyone is expecting an easy game, to be honest. But we go there in good spirits."

Penrith will go into the match on the back of a midweek victory at Seaham Red Star.

Nichols was forced to call on his fifth goalkeeper already in the calendar year as Josh Richardson went between the sticks and kept a clean sheet.

"It's been a nightmare with goalkeepers in the last few weeks," Nichols said.

"Stuart Dixon has moved to New Zealand, Jonny Jamieson is out injured.

"We are absolutely churning through them at the minute.

"Hopefully, we can get it sorted at some point next week. I don't think it's doing anyone any favours."

Former Northern Ireland Under-21 international Bryan Gilfillan linked up with the Frenchfield Park outfit late last week and he started both Tuesday's win and Saturday's 4-2 defeat at home to Newton Aycliffe.

"He ended up having to play centre-half on Saturday but played centre midfield on Tuesday and he was excellent," Nichols said of his most recent addition.

"It made a difference having the three in midfield who always wanted the ball on Tuesday.

"You can tell he looks after himself. So far, I have nothing but positive things to say about him.

"As a club, we do tend to struggle to get experienced players in.

"We end up with young lads who have not played too much at our level, so it's a good signing."

Jordan Lawson and Tyler Bowman will return this weekend, while Robbie Hebson is cup-tied and Grant Davidson is a doubt.

Martyn Coleman (suspended), Will Paul (away) and Dean Rea (suspended) will comeback for Tuesday night's match at Sunderland RCA.
