The Salford player’s initial month-long loan deal is now up but Veivers has been delighted with his acquisition and would like to keep him at the Zebra Claims Stadium.
Veivers is currently in talks with Gee’s parent club Salford Red Devils to extend the deal.
“His four weeks up but we are keen to see if we can extend the deal,” admitted Veivers.
“I think he has been great since he’s been here. He’s got an edge to his play and all the games he’s played he has done okay for us.
“His work- rate has been really good and he has fitted into the team really well.”
Gee was one of the stand-out players in Town’s superb second- half showing at Halifax last Sunday.
Despite going under 36-32, Town reacted well to a half-time showdown with coach Veivers, and came out fighting in the second period.
And 21-year-old second-rower Gee was one of the key players to lead the fight.
“He was very, very good at the weekend,” confirmed Veivers, whose side were only narrowly denied what would have been a crucial victory.
“He had the most tackles and the most carries and still spent time on the sidelines to take a rest. It was a really big effort from him.”
Veivers was intending to give his players the week off as they have no game this weekend due to the Challenge Cup taking centre stage.
But, after their revival, both the players and coach were keen not to give up any momentum. So they were back in training on Tuesday and last night.
Town are back in action a week on Sunday when they head to Sheffield Eagles to renew their Championship campaign.
