Thornhill Social saw off the challenge of Workington Sunday League champions Northside to progress in the County Cup.

Four goals from Josh Charlton were the key to success for Egremont and District Sunday League side Thornhill.

Stuart Shaw and Ross Leeson also found the back of the net as Social recorded a 6-2 win.

Northside did beat the defence on two occasions to score through Jamie Bramley and Steff Scott.

Blue Bell ensured there was a Workington side remaining in the competition as they beat Waverley 5-3.

Greg Quayle was on form as he beat the opposing keeper twice with Will Bowe and Colin McAllister also scoring.

Dean Anderson was unlucky to finish on the losing side after bagging a hat-trick for Waverley.

The final County Cup match saw Seaton Royal Oak host Mirehouse and it was the visitors who left with the spoils, winning 8-3 despite home goals from Ben Powell, Brenden Wilkinson and Ellis Mewse.

In Workington Sunday League action, there was only one game in the Premier League – and it was a close one.

Deer Orchard just edged the five-goal encounter with Senhouse Street Club 3-2 thanks to strikes from Mike Graham, Luke Graham and Brian Straughton.

Dean Winder and Wayne Brash replied for Senhouse.

In Division One, Dearham shared the scoring as they defeated Highfield comfortably 8-2.

Steve Stoddart collected a brace to go alongside goals from Jamie MacArthur, Jonathan Bridgewood, Calum Casson, Jack Taylor, Dylan Elsworth and Nick Charlton.

Declan Moore and Tyler Marrs provided the consolation goals for Highfield.

It was much closer as Sun Inn Athletic entertained Maryport United with the visitors just taking the points with a 3-2 win.

Stevie Owens’ brace helped Maryport record the away win with Jack Parker also finding the back of the net. Stephen Wilson and Jordan Ridley scored for Athletic.

There were two players celebrating braces as Maryport Labour Club beat Silloth Albion 5-3.

Shaun Pattinson and David Miller were both on the scoresheet twice for Labour Club with Ethan Weir rounding off the scoring.

Albion tried to hit back with Ewan Trestianu also bagging a double while Mark Glencross added a third.

Both Divisional Cup matches were called off.
