A hat-trick of goals from Brandon Renney ensured FC Gaslight moved into the next round of the Workington Sunday League Cup.

The victory came at the expense of Dearham who did manage to put one in the back of the net through Andrew Bezusko.

But three from Renney and another from Connor Kilgour meant Gaslight were clear 4-1 winners.

Turning to the league and current champions Northside are stamping their intent all over their opposition recently.

This week it was the turn of Senhouse Street Club to find out how much Northside want to hang on to their title.

It was a goalfest as Northside ran out 16-2 winners with both Tony Berwick and Kyle Galea finding the net on four occasions.

There was also a hat-trick for Gareth O'Leary and one apiece for Jamie Glover, Jamie Bramley, Mark Eland and Stephen Hampton, with an own goal rounding off the scoring.

The other game in the premier league was a lot tighter with last term's runners up Blue Bell just going under at the hands of Waverley by the odd goal in five.

Brand Newell, Tom Barton and Chris Taylor all picked up goals to see Waverley clinch the points, with Ian Studholme and Rich Hoban replying for Blue Bell.

It was a top-of-the-table clash in the first division when leaders Workington Reds Juniors welcomed second placed Seaton Royal Oak.

And it turned out to be a tough battle with just one goal separating the two teams.

But it finished 3-2 to Reds, with Macauley Sharp getting all three of their goals and they extend their lead at the top to nine points.

Reds pushed their rivals all the way with Tom Powell and Ben Powell scoring and they still have a game in hand on Reds.

There was nothing to choose between Silloth Albion and Maryport Labour Club as the two sides were deadlocked at 2-2 after 90 minutes.

Kris Nichol bagged a brace for Silloth with Ellis Gardhouse getting both of Labour Club's efforts.

Things were a bit easier for Sun Inn Athletic who saw off the challenge of Highfield 4-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Stephen Wilson and one for Dom Harrison.

In the final game, Paul Hodgson, Joe Courtney and Logan Potter were all on target for Salterbeck as they recorded a 3-1 victory over Maryport United, Lee Kirkbride getting their lone consolation.
