Penrith AFC manager Jim Nichols has resigned.
This evening's announcement came after today's 3-2 home loss to Newton Aycliffe. Nichols' assistant, Shaun Gardner, scored both of the Bonny Blues' goals. But he could not stop them from falling to defeat.
"Penrith AFC manager, Jim Nichols, has resigned from his post as manager," a club statement read.
"Everyone at the club would like to thank Jim for his commitment, desire and loyalty to Penrith AFC.
"We wish him all the best for the future."
Penrith are third-bottom in Northern League, Division One, having taken nine points from 16 league fixtures this season.
Nichols, a Primary School teacher at Carlisle's Petteril Bank Community School, took charge of the Bonny Blues in September 2016 and led the club to last season's Cumberland Cup Final, where Penrith fell to a 2-1 extra-time defeat against Workington Reds.
