Northside saw off Egremont League opposition to reach the quarter-finals of the Sunday County Cup.

Bluebell and Senhouse Street Club will also be the Workington’s representatives when they go into an open draw with four teams from the east of the county.

Northside got the better of FC Cosmos at Lowca, getting through to the last eight 4-0 with goals from Steffan Scott (2), Kurt Scott and Dan McDermott.

In the two all-Workington League ties, there were 6-3 victories for both Bluebell and Senhouse Street Club.

At home to Sun Inn, there were goals for Bluebell by Greg Quayle (2), Ryan Connelly (2), Scott Pears and Tom Powell. Sun Inn responded through Kingsley Grandison (2) and Daryl Creighton.

The Senhouse Street scorers were Andrew Brown (2), Matthew Fulton, Andrew Money, Dean Winder and Evan Robinson. Yankees Bar go their goals from Calvin Feeney, Gary Barnes and Callum Best.

In the other tie, an all-Egremont League affair, ended 2-2 after 90 minutes and was still all square at 3-3, so it went to penalties where visitors Mirehouse beat their hosts Lowca Pirates 4-2.

Over on the east side, Royal Scot won 4-3 at Dalston; Arroyo Arms got through 3-0 at Inter Pirelli; FC Reiver had home advantage over Gillford Britannia and won 3-2 while Salutation were 5-2 winners at home to Brampton.

Again, the Workington Sunday League was hit by postponements and only one Division One game went ahead.

Borough Miners were 4-2 winners at Maryport Labour Club with goals from Jack Edmondon, Richard McDowell, Craig Lewthwaite and Robbie Watson. Sam Hewitson and David Miller were on the mark for the Maryport side.
