An unknown quantity will be Carlisle City's next Hallmark Security League opponents.

Provided the game is on after yesterday's rain, the Sky Blues will come up against Cheadle Town today (3pm kick-off).

Cheadle are one of the few sides James Tose's men are yet to face this term and the City manager admitted he doesn't know a great deal about them.

He said: "I don't really know much about them.

"Like us, they seem to be in and around that sort of area, where there is a group of teams all separated by a couple of points."

Indeed, the two teams are separated by two places and four points in the league table, although the Sky Blues have two games in hand on Cheadle.

And Tose admitted, for once, it will be his side who are probably going to be favourites, heading into the clash.

"Confidence is high with the consistency we have shown and I'm looking forward to it," he said.

"We are probably favourites for once this weekend."

After falling to a Reusch First Division Cup Quarter-Final loss at home to Sandbach United last Saturday, the City boss said he wants his players to focus on a new target this weekend.

Tose added: "It was a cup competition last week and you can treat that as a one-off.

"It's a new motivation and a new target now for the players and that is three points."

Frontman Ryan Errington and Michael Slack are likely to be among those available today.

But Tose said: "I've got some options this week. But I will not get excited until 2pm.

"You can have a full squad at 12pm and then have three or four ring up between then and 3pm to say they can't play."

Carlisle City have also been handed a home tie against Netherhall FC in the Cumberland Cup Quarter-Final.
