The signing of midfielder Anthony Wright shows how far Carlisle City have progressed, according to James Tose.

City manager Tose this week brought in Wright from Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division outfit Workington Reds.

The Sky Blues boss described the deal as a "win-win situation for both clubs" as Tose adds more quality and experience to his squad.

He said: "Anthony is a really good player.

"At the same time, we can help Workington have a fitter player when he goes back next month.

"It also shows how far we have come as a club that Workington are letting us take one of their players."

Carlisle City will be looking to build on last weekend's 3-0 home win over Atherton LR this afternoon when they travel to Daisy Hill.

Goals from strike duo Ryan Errington and Michael Reed put the Sky Blues on their way to victory but it was Tom Lucock's goal that carried the most significance as far as Tose was concerned.

"Last week, Tom Lucock was the 20th player to score for us this season," he said.

"I know we concede a few goals but not many teams keep clean sheets against us."

Reflecting on last Saturday's performance, in which, City went 3-0 ahead inside the first 30 minutes, Tose added: "We started really quickly.

"We could have had five in the first 25 minutes. It was good to start the game fast, rather than have to react. It was a good start.

"After that, it was a case of keeping a clean sheet. It was a professional performance."

Wright will come into the Carlisle squad today and Michael Slack will return after being away on a cricket course in the past few weeks.

But striker Ryan Errington will miss out through work commitments.
