There was nothing to choose between Salterbeck and Bransty Rangers' under-14 sides in the West Cumbria Youth League.

The two sides were locked together at full time, both bagging three goals apiece in a tight encounter.

Seaton Juniors are setting the pace at the top of the divison, but only by one point from their nearest challengers Workington Wanderers Whites, who also have two games in hand.

At the weekend, Seaton continued in their winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Aspatria while the Wanderers keep breathing down their neck, thanks to a convincing 9-1 scoreline against Workington Reds Juniors.

The final two games in that age group saw Whitehaven Miners Social go under 3-1 at the hands of visitors Maryport AFC while Cockermouth Juniors recorded a 3-1 away success at Whitehaven AFC.

The under-12 league saw Cleator Moor Celtic begin the weekend well with a 5-2 victory at Whitehaven Miners Social on Friday night.

They then had to play again on the Sunday and were victorious again, this time a 4-1 win over visitors Moor Row, and the points will help them in their race to catch league leaders Seaton United.

Whitehaven AFC's Blue side are also keeping up with the pace, after a 5-2 win over Workington Wolves, while the Whitehaven club's yellow side recorded a 9-0 win over Workington Reds.

St Bees were on top of Aspatria 5-2 while Senhouse Stars beat Bransty Rangers 9-0 and Seaton Athletic emerged 6-1 victors over Maryport AFC.

It's tight at the top of the under-13 league where Cockermouth hold a one point advantage over three chasing sides in Bransty, Dearham and Whitehaven AFC.

Workington Rangers are also not to be ruled out, just three points further down the line and a number of games in hand.

And they proved their credentials when they disposed of Dearham Rangers 3-1.

Cockermouth were convincing 9-0 winners at Moor Row while Whitehaven AFC saw off Workington Reds White side 7-4 in an entertaining game.

Workington Reds' Black side and St Bees played out a 3-3 draw while Maryport Athletic disposed of Windscale 5-1.

Only one game went ahead in the under-16 league, with Workington Reds Juniors' White side beating Cockermouth Juniors' under-15s 3-1.

The girls were all involved in under-12 futsal action with Cockermouth playing Whitehaven and coming out on top 6-1.

Allerdale Girls' orange team had an overwhelming 15-1 result against Whitehaven AFC's Black side.

It was an all-Whitehaven encounter that saw their blue team beat the yellows 5-0 and the club's white side then defeated Cockermouth's blue side 6-1.

The last game was a 4-0 win for Workington Diamonds Whites over Allerdale Girls' Blacks.
