Workington Comets asset Mason Campton is gunning for a top four finish in this weekend's Queensland Solo Speedway Championship.
The young Australian hopes to return to the UK next year after an enforced year away after his working visa was cancelled along with many others last winter.
The criteria to obtain a visa states that a rider must have a Premier League average of more than 7.00 or finish in the top four of an Australian State Championship.
Campton will race in his home state of New South Wales next weekend but before that will travel to Rockhampton, Queensland aiming to secure a podium place.
The competition will be tough as many riders are in the same position and the Queensland field includes experienced Premier League riders Kozza Smith and Tyson Nelson, rising stars Jake Allen and Matthew Day and the defending champion and 2014 Comets No1 Josh Grajczonek.
Next weekend in the New South Wales Championship, which is being contested on a brand new indoor circuit, the field has not been confirmed yet but seeded riders include Premier League stars Sam Masters, Rohan Tungate, Brady Kurtz and Jack Holder.
