Bluebell went top of the Workington Sunday League’s Premier Division with a comfortable 6-1 win over Deer Orchard.

Champions Northside weren’t playing so Bluebell took full advantage, nosing to the front by a point, although they have now played one more game than their rivals.

Grant Quayle, Ryan Connelly and Tom Powell all netted twice for Bluebell with Luke Graham scoring Orchard’s consolation.

Sun Inn and Senhouse Street stay third and fourth in the table after their respective victories.

Richard Hudson, Richard Hird and Craig Wilson scored the goals which gave Sun Inn a 3-1 win over Grasslot Welfare, for whom Mark Barlow was on target.

Senhouse Street’s victory was even tighter as Terry Wharrier and Connor Irving scored in a 2-1 win over Voodoo. Jamie Crossfield notched the Voodoo goal.

In the other Premier Division game, Millfield Miners were 3-1 winners at Dearham Commercial. Tom Williams bagged a brace and Anthony Zajac netted for the Miners, with Darren Rule on the mark for the hosts.

There were plenty of goals in Division One, even if one of the four scheduled fixtures was called-off.

Borough Miners led the way with a 7-3 win against Maryport Labour Club and four of them were scored by Niall Melton. Jack Edmundson, Bryan Rutherford and Kevin Lever also chipped-in.

Ellis Guardhouse, Ethan Wear and Jack Pears made sure Miners didn’t have it all their own way as they netted for the Labour Club.

The other two games were decided by the odd goal with Seaton Rangers winning 3-2 at Commercial and Workington Grapes edging out Thomas Henry 4-3.

Greg Kerr, Barry Miller and Shaun Carter were the scorers for Seaton Rangers with Lee Sharp and Mark Mattocks on target for Commercial.

Finding the net for Grapes, Mark Robertson hit a double, Daniel Storey and Adam Cowan also scored one a piece while the Thomas Henry goals came from Jordan Tremble, Sean Boal and Darryl Birks.

The game between Broughton and Yankees Bar was postponed because of a suspension imposed on the Workington side.
