Carlisle United have been handed a trip to League Two leaders Lincoln City in the second round of the FA Cup.

The Blues were given an away tie at Sincil Bank in tonight's draw.

It means Danny Cowley's fourth-tier pacesetters will stand between John Sheridan's men and a place in the potentially lucrative third round.

United faced Lincoln away last month in the league, earning a 2-2 draw.

Ashley Nadesan scored both Blues goals in a game which saw striker Richie Bennett play at centre-half.

Like United, the Imps needed a last-minute goal against League Two opposition to win their first round tie on Saturday.

Bruno Andrade scored in injury time to secure a 3-2 victory against Keith Curle's Northampton, as Jamie Devitt's goal saw United beat Crewe 1-0.

The draw was conducted by Brighton's Cumbrian top-flight star Glenn Murray and former Middlesbrough and Fulham keeper Mark Schwarzer.

Ex-United frontman Murray drew the home teams and Schwarzer the aways.

The tie will be played on the weekend of November 30-December 3.

United and Lincoln have met three times previously in the FA Cup, most recently in 2002 when goals from Craig Farrell and Richie Foran earned a 2-1 first round win.

Carlisle also won 1-0 in 1949 with Lincoln winning by the same scoreline in 1928.

This will be the first time the sides have met at Sincil Bank in the famous competition.

There will also be £54,000 prize money riding on the tie, United having secured £36,000 from their first round win.
