Red House tasted success in the opening round of the Workington Sunday League Cup, overcoming Workington Juniors in a seven goal thriller.

Grant Quayle bagged a brace for Red House as they edged the encounter 4-3, with Ryan Clubley and Adam Chambers also finding the back of the net.

Luke Mitchell replied with two for the Workington side and an own goal completed their scoring.

The tie due to be played in the President's Cup was off with Northside going through at the expense of Soul Suite.

Back to league action and the goals were being racked up in the three premier league games played - 25 in total.

The most came in the clash between Senhouse St Club and Waverley, with the former eventually winning 9-4.

Terry Warrior recorded a hat-trick as the home side began to turn up the heat with Chris Taylor and Adam Slattery both picking up braces.

An effort from Scott Weston and an own goal wrapped up the scoring for Senhouse.

In reply, Anthony Hilland, Antony Zajac, Chris Williams and Jordan Mandale all fought back for Waverley, finding the net.

The final game was the closest with second place Pack Horse seeing off the challenge of Dearham 2-1 with goals from Ryan Robinson and Jamie Graham.

Maryport Labour Club won the town derby with Maryport United 2-0 thanks to Gavin Graham and Dean Scholey both putting their chances away.

And league leaders Salterbeck continued their unbeaten start to the season with their third win in three games, this time Sun Inn Athletic the victims.

It was a close game, at St Mungo's Park, Aspatria but two goals from Nathan Brash allowed visitors Salterbeck to take the win 2-1, despite Stephen Wilson's goal for Sun Inn.
