Workington Town boss Leon Pryce declared his side should go into the League One play-offs full of confidence.

Town still have one game remaining of the regular league season, at Doncaster on Sunday, and Pryce is keen not to look too far ahead.

But he says, after beating the majority of the teams vying for the play-offs, his side should be confident they can beat anybody on the day.

"If York go on to win the league, which they should do, then we have beaten every team left in the play-offs," said Pryce.

"So, on the day, we have proven we can beat them so why would we not be confident?

"We are not looking that far ahead but all we know at the moment is whatever way the play-offs are we have beaten those teams."

Pryce's side have beaten Bradford Bulls both home and away this season. And they have defeated Sunday's opponents, and the team directly above them in the league, Doncaster, at Derwent Park.

He is aware that his side still has a job to do on Sunday in the final league game, but he also admitted it was nice to be sure of the play-off place.

The Town boss was still unsure as to what kind of a team he would put out on Sunday but admitted, with a small squad, he could not make too many changes.

"We haven't got a deep squad, we've only got a small squad so it's not like I've got loads of players I can rest," he said.

"We've got to perform well but it's not life and death, we don't have to win, which is good.

"Obviously I will check the players, chat with my staff and then make a decision on how we approach the game."

Whatever happens next, it has been a great start to a coaching career for Pryce, steering Town to the play-offs and a possible shot at promotion.

And he said he has thoroughly enjoyed the coaching arena, with the team responding well.

"It has been brilliant," he added.

"At the start of the season, it took a bit of getting to know each other, the players getting to know what I want and for me to know what works best in this league.

"But I think, after the York away game, we went on a really good run and I think that's when we found our form.

"I think I've found what I enjoy out of the players and they've found a way of working with me and understanding each other. We're at a good place."
