Whitehaven Miners Social Under-12s continued their unbeaten start to the West Cumbria Youth League season.

In the Under-12 Blue Division, they took on St Bees Juniors and came out on top 9-2 to stay joint top of the division with Seaton United and Whitehaven AFC Blues.

Seaton United also made it two wins from two outings when they got the better of Dearham Rangers in a tight game 2-1.

And Whitehaven AFC Blues are the third team with a clean sweep so far, beating Silloth Mini Gulls 9-2.

The other game in the division was the closest, with Grassroad Sharks entertaining Moor Row Blacks.

There was nothing to choose from between the two sides at the final whistle as the game ended in a 4-4 draw.

The Under-12 Red Division sees Cleator Moor Celtic Greens and Whitehaven AFC Yellows on top of the pile after the first two games of the new season.

Celtic welcomed Seaton Athletic and picked up the points with a 5-2 win, while Whitehaven Yellows recorded an 8-3 win at the home of Maryport Amateurs.

Moor Row Juniors were convincing in their game at Workington Reds Red team, winning 9-0.

Moving up an age group to the Under-13 league, Cleator Moor Celtic remain on top of the pile thanks to a 9-0 win over Workignton Reds.

Also sitting jointly on top after three games are Whitehaven AFC Blues, who stay ahead of the pack with an 8-0 win at Maryport Amateurs.

Chasing the duo down are Whitehaven Miners Social, who won 9-2 at Senhouse Juniors, Cockermouth United who were 8-2 victors over Whitehaven AFC Yellows, Windscale Juniors who defeated Bransty Rangers 9-0 and Seaton Athletic who won a tight match 2-1 against Workington Wolves.

Only one game went ahead in the Under-14 league where St Bees Juniors recorded a 9-1 win over Workington Reds Black side.

Bransty Rangers and Maryport Athletic lead the way in the Under-16 league, after they both picked up wins over the weekend.

Bransty got the better of Windscale Under-15s 9-1 while Maryport Athletic scored seven against Seaton Juniors Under-15s without reply.

Whitehaven AFC got the better of their town derby with Whitehaven Miners Social Under-15s 6-1.

It was tight between Cockermouth Lightning and Workington Wanderers Whites Under-15s, finishing 1-1 at full time.

There was also one game in the Under-18 league with Workington Reds Whites beating Seaton Juniors 9-0.

There was also plenty of goals in the girls leagues, beginning with the Under-12s where Whitehaven AFC Whites picked up a 5-2 win over Cockermouth Girls.

In the all-Workington derby, Allerdale Girls picked up the points with a 3-0 win over Workington Reds Diamonds and the other game saw a 1-1 draw between Maryport Amateurs and Whitehaven AFC Blues.

Turning to the Under-14 fixtures, there was another cracking encounter as Whitehaven AFC Under-13 Blues drew 3-3 with Cockermouth Juniors.

In the other game Whitehaven’s Under-14 side were convincing in their 9-0 away win at Maryport Amateurs.
