Seaton Royal Oak came back from the cup heartache that saw Flimby Vikings lift the Divisional Cup to beat their rivals to the Division Two title.

Seaton lost 3-2 to Flimby in the showpiece final, but they overturned the Maryport outfit’s one-point advantage when they won 4-2 in their final league game of the season.

The three points saw Royal Oak leapfrog the Vikings and win the Workington & District Sunday League’s bottom tier.

Andrew Wilner was the hero, scoring twice en route to victory.

Dan Tyer and Andrew Bromley completed the scoring for Royal Oak, who end the season with 39 points from their 14 matches.

The Seaton side have netted an incredible 84 goals at an average of six per game, and conceded just 15 times - both league records for this season.

A 16-1 win over Broughton was the season highlight with Paul Johnson scoring four times with Brenden Wilkinson and Paul Hopper netting hat-tricks.

You have to go back to November to find Royal Oak’s only loss - a 4-3 reversal at the hands of Flimby, who scored through Mark Hine, Adam Tinnion, Keith Anderson and Chris Dawes.

Hall Park Hotel completed their season as the unbeaten Premier Division winners.

In their final game, the Workington side beat third placed Northside 3-1. Marc Green, Graeme Peers and Brian Straughton were on target for the home side.

Hall Park won 13 and drew one of their matches this season, scoring 51 times in the process.

Dearham finished second, despite losing 2-1 to Workington Reds House.

Jordan Branthwatite scored for the home side, but Scot Pears and David Gaunt made sure of the win for Reds House.

Gaz O’Leary scored four times in two matches as Real Red House beat Waverley and Miners Arms to finish fourth in Division One.

The prolific front man completed his hat-trick against Miners in a 5-3 romp. Dean Scholey scored twice.

O’Leary also scored in Red House’s 5-3 win over Waverley with Mike O’Leary scoring twice and Jonathan Pattinson completing the scoring.
