Julie Farish, the first buyer at Taylor Wimpey’s new Cumbrian development, has picked up the keys to her home.

Since opening its doors in 2016, The Coppice, on the outskirts of Carlisle, has continued to attract interest.

Julie said: “I chose to move to The Coppice as I’ve always lived in this area of town. I actually bought my home off-plan, but I had the opportunity to go and see the showhomes at a nearby development first, which left me very impressed.

“The whole team has bent over backwards to help me – I appreciate all their help and kindness.”

The Coppice has a range of two and four-bedroom properties available for buyers at every stage of the property ladder, from £169,995.

Karl Morton, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey North East, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Julie to The Coppice.

“To help make the process of buying here as stress-free as possible, we have a range of financial initiatives available to buyers, whatever their circumstance.

“Help to Buy, for example, is ideal for first-time buyers looking to take the plunge on to the property ladder, while Part Exchange and Easymover are available to existing homeowners who require assistance selling their current home.”

The Government-backed Help to Buy scheme has allowed thousands of buyers to secure a new home worth up to £600,000 with just a 5% deposit.

The scheme is credited with allowing buyers to move in without having to save for a deposit, allowing more time to enjoy buying new fixtures and fittings for their new-build home.

Julie added: “My two boys and I love our new home – it’s just perfect. We’re settling in wonderfully and I’m sure we’re going to be very happy here.”
