World-best sprinter Usain 'Lightning' Bolt is making his mark on the British property market - to the tune of almost £600,000.

If you want to make some money fast, buy a home on a street with Bolt in its name.

According to an analysis of Olympics street names, the average value of a home in one of the roads is £563,106, making them the most valuable Olympic-themed spots in the UK.

And streets that share their names with some of the UK’s most successful athletes are close runners-up in the property value stakes too. Homes on streets with Wiggins, Redgrave and Tweddle in the name have also made it into the top 10.

Zoopla spokesman Lawrence Hall said: “It appears that it’s not only London’s streets that are paved with gold, but roads that share their name with Jamaica’s most famous sporting export are too.

“Homes on streets containing Bolt are worth 73 per cent more than the current national average which is£263,859.”

Gold takes the top podium place in terms of property prices as well as prizes, with homes on Gold-named streets worth significantly more than Silver or Bronze.

The most valuable streets with the name Gold are:

Gold Hill in Farnham, where properties are valued at £2m

Gold Hill in Shepton Mallet, where homes fetch an average £1.1m

Gold Street in Northampton, where properties typically hit £1.1m
